Back in June, Janet Jackson performed four sold-out nights in Japan as part of a mini-tour. The event culminated in the release of a special “Doesn’t Really Matter” remix featuring Japanese boyband BE:FIRST. Both concerts in Yokohama and Nagoya were professionally filmed, with multiple cameras capturing the shows from different angles, as well as drones flying over the stage and audience.
Japanese channel WOWOW had officially scheduled the broadcast of the show for this weekend, September 26th. However, a few hours ago, the network released a statement announcing that the broadcast had been cancelled.
“Janet Jackson Japan Tour 2026 / JANET JACKSON JAPAN 2026,” which was scheduled to be broadcast and streamed on Saturday, September 26th and Friday, October 16th, 2026, has been canceled due to circumstances on the part of the domestic company that holds the rights to the overseas artist.

No further details have been provided regarding the reason for the cancellation or what will happen to the professionally filmed footage. Adding another item to the pile of unfinished, cancelled and wasted projects in Janet’s career…
